Squash and Apple Bake

2 lbs. butternut or buttercup squash
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. margarine or butter, melted
1 Tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground mace
2 baking apples, cored and cut into 1/2-inch slices

Cut each squash into halves; remove seeds and fibers.
Pare squash. Cut into 1/2-inch slices.

Mix brown sugar, margarine, flour, salt and mace.
Arrange squash in ungreased oblong baking dish,
top with apple slices.  Sprinkle sugar mixture over top.
Cover and cook in 350 deg. oven until squash is tender,
50-60 minutes.  (6 servings)
